Tania & Chris | Wedgewood Weddings Ken Caryl Wedding | Colorado Wedding Photographer
Happy Thursday Everyone!! As the week winds down, I can’t help think of all of the things that I have to do before the weekend. I’m super excited because my entire family and I are heading to Disneyland on Saturday for a week of fun at the parks. But before I head out of town for the next few weeks, I wanted to finally share Tania & Chris’ wedding at the Wedgewood Weddings Ken Caryl from last summer.
If you haven’t checked out Tania & Chris’ Engagement Session at Mt. Falcon Park, go do that here!
Rainy Days at Wedgewood Weddings Ken Caryl
Tania & Chris’ Wedding at the Wedgewood Weddings Ken Caryl was an a-typical day for a summer Colorado wedding in June. Wedgewood Ken Caryl is located on the west side of Denver close to the foothills. The property is bordered on the west side by the beautiful Deer Creek Golf Club plus has some great views of the Colorado foothills. It’s a really lovely venue with some great all-inclusive options for your Colorado wedding.
The day started out with me meeting Tania, her mom and some of her bridesmaids at the Solera Salon where she was getting ready at. Of course as soon as I pulled up to the salon, the skies opened and up and it just started pouring rain right then. I managed to make it inside quickly with my gear but was not completely unscathed. I caught up with them as they were finishing up and managed to get quite a few photos of Tania in the chair touching up her hair and make up.
After the salon, we headed over to Wedgewood Ken Caryl for them to finish getting ready for the day. The rain had let up by then but it was still coming down pretty good. Once we got to the venue, I started out by getting photos of Tania’s dress and other details. She had these gorgeous, ruby colored shoes that complimented the color scheme of her wedding perfectly.
While the girls were getting ready, Chris and his groomsmen were on the opposite side of the venue getting ready themselves. By this time, the rain had let up enough to be able to go outside and take group photos. My second photographer, Yasiris Torres, took the guys out to get photos of them together plus some shots of Chris by himself.
The time had come for the actual ceremony to begin and again the rain decided to start up again. The ceremony was still being held outside so everyone made their way out there with their umbrellas. The entire bridal party were very supportive and managed to survive the rain throughout the entire ceremony. The officiant decided to speed up the ceremony a little to help everyone get back inside to get dry. Regardless, it was very beautifully done and you could see how happy Tania & Chris were to finally be married.
Family, Laughter, & Italian Cookies
After the ceremony, it was time for family photos, bridal party photos and then couple’s portraits. The rain finally let up by this point so we were actually able to take portraits outside of the venue. Once we wrapped up the couple’s portraits, we headed back inside the venue so Tania could get her dress bustled and then be announced for dinner. The entire reception was full of fun, laughter, and family which is exactly how Tania and Chris wanted it. Tania’s grandparent’s came all the way from Italy for her wedding day and made it extra special by making an entire array of authentic Italian style cookies. They were a huge hit and I managed to take quite a few home. My favorites were the home made pizzelle’s which are a classic Italian cookie made in an iron.
During the reception, I snuck Tania & Chris out for some night portraits in the main corridor where the venue has some cool wrought iron gates and string lights. I like to try and get my couple’s outside for a few minutes to just take a break from all the excitement. Plus it give me a chance to try something different.
At the end of the day and despite all of the rain, Tania & Chris’ wedding turned out perfectly. They are a perfect match for each other and you could see how happy they were to be together with all of their friends and family.
Tania & Chris, I am so beyond happy that I got to be there to witness the beginning of your next big adventure. Thank you a million times over for being so incredible. I hope this new adventure together gets better each and every day. Cheers to many more decades of love and happiness!
