I might be biased, but honestly, this South Mesa Trailhead family session might be one of my favorites ever. Why? Because this beautiful group of people belongs to my little sister and the smiles of these four souls fill my heart with happiness. From left to right, my niece -Charlie, my sister -Maegen, her fiance -Josh, and my niece -Sloane.
I have a special place in my heart for sisters. I love the way these images of Charlie and Sloane turned out and that it took very little encouragement to induce giggles from these two. Capturing candid moments like this is everything I love about being a photographer.
I was also thrilled to shoot at the South Mesa Trailhead. The gorgeous views of Colorado’s famous Flatirons made a stellar backdrop and there was no shortage of photo opportunities with trees, tall grasses, and a babbling creek.
It was also a special moment for me to celebrate the impending nuptials of my sister and her fiance, Josh. While taking their engagement photos was also on the day’s agenda, it was seeing this newly blended family come together that truly made this session magical for me. Since it was such a beautiful day, we decided that we really didn’t need to go anywhere else and did their engagement photos right at South Mesa Trailhead as well. You really can’t beat those views!!
I know the time will fly by quickly and it won’t be long before I’m headed across the country to see these favorites of mine once again. Only this time, it will be to capture the intimate ceremony Maegen and Josh have planned for their wedding day. I can’t wait and I’m so honored that not only will I get to photograph it, but I will be the only family member in attendance for it.
