Manny – Class of 2017 | Northglenn High School & RiNo District | Colorado Senior Photography
Meet Manny who is a part of the Class of 2017 from Northglenn High School. This senior photography session happens to be special to me since Manny is my son who also graduated a little over one week ago. I had two different sessions for Manny because he wanted to do something a little more edgy and I wanted to do something a little more traditional.
The first area that we chose for his senior photography session was the RiNo District in Downtown Denver. This is a cool, hip, up and coming neighborhood that is full of local breweries and restaurants. One of the best things about the area is that it’s also very supportive of local artists and hosts a street art festival every year. You can’t turn any corner without running into some amazing murals that line the building and alleyways. They make for some awesome backgrounds. We ran out of time to go to a park area to try and get some more traditional shots so we decided to do a second session at a park.
The second session took place at a park near where we live. I dragged Manny out of bed before dawn to we could get some cool sunrise photos. If you have a teenager, then you know how difficult it can be to get them out of bed before noon. Luckily, daylight savings was still on so the sun didn’t come up until 7am but it was still difficult. Since he is a soccer player, I had him bring his soccer ball and we got some cool shots of him just juggling the ball around. Once the sun started coming up more we just walked around the park and got some nice photos a various locations. That’s the great thing about Colorado, you can get some cool urban type shots and then drive about 10 minutes to find awesome open spaces to take advantage of all of the nature that this state has.
Currently, Manny has plans to attend Front Range Community College to take care of his general education stuff out of the way. He eventually wants to go into the Physical Therapy program at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. I’m very proud of Manny and know that he will go on to do great things.
