I met Kellie & Brian earlier this year when Kellie’s sister Stephanie referred them to me for their wedding photography. I couldn’t be more honored to be chosen to capture their big day. Now we are only one short week away from their wedding that is going to take place at the amazing Boettcher Mansion in Golden, Colorado. I can’t tell you how excited I am to be the one to capture their special day. In the meantime, continue reading to see all the great photos we captured during their Sloan’s Lake & Downtown Denver engagement session.
The three of us (and their two pups) met up on an early Saturday morning back in June for their engagement session. We decided on Sloan’s Lake Park as their first location since it was close to their home in Denver. I loved the fact that Kellie & Brian also brought their two dogs along to be a part of the session. As a dog owner myself, I know how important pets can be to a family. I always encourage my clients to bring them along to be in the photos too. It makes it more challenging but it’s definitely a lot more fun with some furry friends coming along.
After spending about an hour at Sloan’s Lake, we decided to go ahead and move to the Downtown Denver area to finish up the rest of their engagement session. We dropped off their dogs then headed over towards the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Cherry Creek Trail. We had some fun walking along the trail where they have an amazing wall full of lush ivy. The photos that we got from portion are some of my favorites from the entire session. I love how Kellie’s dress just pops against the deep green ivy.

You can’t beat a good ivy wall for photos. But there were so many other interesting backgrounds too! The green door was another of my faves.
