Kelli & Jason | Sweet Cow Ice Cream & Davidson Mesa Engagement Session | Colorado Engagement Photographer
Love is Sweet when you have Sweet Cow Ice Cream!
When Kelli contacted me to talk about hiring me for her wedding, I was so excited and happy for her. I grew up with both Kelli & Jason and we all graduated from Broomfield High school. Kelli is one of my sister’s best friend’s and we were both bridesmaids in her wedding. Jason and I were in the same class and graduated together. So imagine my excitement when I heard that these two, were not only dating but they were engaged.
We immediately started planning their Colorado engagement session. I had given them a few suggestions on locations based on what Kelli wanted but also suggested we do something fun. She wanted mountain views for that classic outdoor scenery but she also mentioned that she loved ice cream. We decided on going to Davidson Mesa near Boulder to get those mountain views but I also knew that Sweet Cow was near by in Louisville. She immediately said yes to that idea since she loves Sweet Cow Ice Cream and has been wanting to take Jason there as well. We set a date for the fall and I was personally looking forward to the ice cream.
A few days before their engagement session was supposed to happen, the weather took a small turn for the worse. Colorado weather can be unpredictable most of the year and it happened to snow only a few days before. Luckily, October tends to be warm and it quickly changed back to sunny and melted all of the snow. It actually turned out to be a perfect day because it was warm and not a cloud in the sky. We all met up at Sweet Cow Ice Cream so we could get our ice cream fix and get some photos around the courtyard that they have set up. I ended up getting their Ozo Espresso Bean ice cream and I highly recommend it. They also have vegan options for those looking for a dairy free option.
P.S. Did you know that you can also hire them for your special event? They’re Sweet Cow MooMobile will come to you and serve their delicious ice cream to your guests.
Once we were all finished with our ice cream, we quickly moved on to walk around Downtown Louisville. We stopped in a few different alleyways and the Waterloo which is a local restaurant with live music. Downtown Louisville also happens to have some cool graffiti walls around town and around the corner from Waterloo was an awesome mural of the Colorado flag by Distinct Parity Studios.
I Love You To The Moon & Back!
Once we were done walking around Downtown Louisville we headed over to Davidson Mesa to finish out their Colorado engagement session. Davidson Mesa is a great spot because of the spectacular views of the Colorado mountains. It’s also got several trails to walk on and it’s fairly easy to get to. There also happens to be a dog park so you can bring your fur babies along.
P.P.S. Have I ever mentioned that I LOVE it when my couple’s include their pets? Don’t be afraid to ask me and don’t be offended if I spend more time taking photos of your dog than you. 😀
We spent the next hour walking along the trails getting some great photos of them up until the sun almost set. I noticed that the moon was rising right behind them and I had to quickly seize the moment to try and get some cool photos of them with the moon. We timed it perfectly to where I managed to get the moon right between them. Immediately after that I turned them around to get some photos of them with the sun setting behind them. The color in the sky was AHH-Mazing and we couldn’t have asked for a better night for their Colorado engagement session.
Congratulations Kelli & Jason! I’m so happy for you and I can’t wait to shoot your wedding this summer at
The Ranch Country Club in Westminster, CO.
