Happy St. Patricks Day!! I’d like you all to meet Regina & Bristol. This lovely mom and her adorable “mini-me” let me take pictures of them several months ago at McIntosh Lake in Longmont, Colorado.
McIntosh Lake is a great place for a family photo session with a small beach and some great views of Longs Peak. There’s also a nice trail that takes you around the entire lake and you can even stop and see the Agricultural Heritage Center.
Even though we’d been having really warm weather at the time, it just happened to snow the day before the session. Luckily, the snow didn’t stick around and was mostly melted by the time we started so it was still pretty warm. We started out near the main trail of the lake to get some really nice pictures of them with the water in the background. I really like the quick little moments of them just talking to each other and you can really tell how much they love each other. We moved over towards the playground for a few quick shots and you can start to see Bristol’s big personality starting to come through. She’s definitely a sassy little girl and was just real fun to work with. Regina definitely will have her work cut out for her when Bristol get’s older. 🙂
I really liked the fact that the lake was a little low so that we could go on the beach. It was a little muddy because of the previous day’s snow but we did manage to walk down on a part that wasn’t too bad. The sun was now just low enough that the lighting was amazing so I could capture some awesome colors from the sunset in the sky. Take a look at some of the great moments that I captured of them below.
