Alright, I gotta be honest. Whenever I get to photograph a wedding with such a GOOD GIRL as Kanga, I know it’s going to be one of my favorites. Amy and Jonathan’s wedding was no exception. I swear this beautiful Flower Dog knew it was a special day for her people. She was clearly basking in every minute of being surrounded by so much love.
Prior to their wedding day, Amy reached out to me on my Instagram account and we arranged to meet up for coffee and to go over all the details. It was immediately apparent that Amy and Jonathan support each other in everything – their hobbies and careers. They both enjoy being outdoors and are both majorly into fitness. (Fun Fact: Amy has been competing in bodybuilding competitions and Jonathan supports her by cheering her on from the crowd.)
These two are also very adventurous and love staying active by going hiking and other outdoor activities. We had a little adventure when I met up with them last fall for their fun engagement session at Brainard Lake near Boulder. Click here to check that out.
Yet another thing that made an impression on me was the couple’s love for each of their families. It was important to them that everyone felt special and involved. Consequently, I made it my priority to capture that loving inclusivity in my photographs of Amy and Jonathan’s story.
On Jonathan’s family property, on a beautiful day in July, surrounded by friends and all their family, Amy and Jonathan tied the knot.
The newlywed’s cut a gorgeous cake made with lots of love by the bride’s father! I can happily confirm it tasted just as incredible as it looked.
One of my favorite images from this day is of Amy and Jonathan on the road leading to their home. To me, it symbolizes their love for each other, their people, and their family – while also representing the new little family they became that day.
