Atomic Workshops Part 1 | Styled Engagement Shoot | TihsreeD Lodge Wedding & Event Venue | Colorado Engagement Photographer
A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of joining around 40 other wedding professionals for a weekend full of fun, networking, and of course, tons of shooting. Atomic Workshops put on an epic wedding & engagement photography workshop at the TihsreeD Lodge Wedding & Event Venue in Florissant, Colorado. Florissant is a very quaint, small mountain town that is about 34 miles west of Colorado Springs. The scenery is amazing as you pass by the legendary Garden of the Gods, along with other famous landmarks such as Cave of the Winds and Pikes Peak.
Everyone arrived to TihsreeD Lodge on Friday afternoon, where we immediately got to work. The first day was full of Engagement Shoots and we had six couples that were chosen to be a part of the workshop. All of them had their hair & make-up professionally done by the two amazing stylists…Kim Jundt from Kim J Beauty and Brittany Slaughter from Alchemy Creative. The photographers (including myself) were then split up into groups and we each got to spend around 20-30 minutes with each couple in different areas of the property. There are so many options at TihsreeD as the property has tons of land with lots of trees and meadows. It also has some amazing views of Pikes Peak in the background.
The day was sunny and cold which was challenging for all of us. It’s already somewhat difficult to shoot when the sun is so harsh but the cold made it just a that much harder, especially for the couples who were freezing by the end of the day. All of them ended up being really great to work with and still managed to have a lot of fun during the shoots. I can say that Day 1 at the workshop was a great success and I’m really pleased with how many great photos I got of each couple. I’ve also been excited to see what all of the other photographers have produced from this first day of shooting.
Scroll down to check out the engagement photos that I took of each couple
and stay tuned for Part 2 of my Atomic Workshop blog post.
