Colorado has some amazing scenery and Brainard Lake is one of those great locations to have a classic Colorado Engagement Session. In honor of their wedding coming up this Saturday, I’m excited to share Amy & Jonathan’s Brainard Lake Engagement Session on my blog today. Amy really wanted snow for their engagement session and although it was November, unfortunately there wasn’t much snow. However, it was still plenty cold and definitely worth freezing a little to get some epic, mountain photos.
Brainard Lake is a glacier carved valley west of Boulder, Colorado. This time of year, the main road to the lake is closed so you have to park in the “winter lot” and hike up to the lake. Once we made it there, you have some nice views of the surrounding mountains and lake. We definitely had some fun hiking around and trying to get some of those epic mountain shots. We also managed to hike into the forest along a short trail to have a more secluded area. The nice thing about the road being closed is that we didn’t have to worry about any traffic at all. So we managed to also get some fun shots in the road during their Colorado engagement session, including them giving each other piggy back rides.
